House and Collections Heritage Skills Passport

What is the National Trust Heritage Skills Passport?

The House and Collections’ Heritage Skills Passport written for the fourth cohort of trainees was a rewrite of the first House and Collections Passport, following the structure recommended by Stan Lester.

The project received support from Christine Murray, National Specialist and Preventive Conservation Adviser – Skills & Projects, and Hugh Brown, CMS Lead, who, with the support of the programme manager, wrote the content of the skills areas, units, learning outcomes and assessment criteria.

These were based on the skills contained in the original Heritage Skills Passport, based on the ICON qualification. The assessment criteria described what level you would need to reach at a National Trust property to achieve this learning outcome.
