Claire Poulton brought experience of working with groups under-represented in the heritage sector.
However, when she arrived she talked to as many people as possible who had experience of working in the field of recruiting for diversity.
This included relevant organisations; the partner organisations who we subsequently worked with and people within the National Trust with previous relevant experience.
Marketing the traineeship to the properties
The traineeship were advertised to the properties by emphasising the value and benefits of taking on a trainee.
Marketing was carried out by reaching out to the directors of regions, general managers, consultants, People Business Partners and the head of each relevant subject area at every property.
We also advertised internally through the National Trust’s communication channels.
